Behdad is a wonderful performer and excellent teacher. Most of all a pleasant person of good character and fun to be with. I've learned a lot and if not a very accomplished performer (see me on YouTube!) the fault lies with me: too busy, even at 80, to get to my instrument as I wish I could. But the most interesting thing with Behdad's method is learning how to practice correctly in a short time frame so that performance ability comes more quickly without that dreaded slog through practice. without pleasure. None better than Persia's best guitarist, I say!

Behdad is an amazing teacher. He goes above and beyond for his students. He's a genuine person who is fun and caring, but also knows how to get to business when necessary. I wouldn't want anyone else to teach my son, and have such a positive impact.

My eight year old son, Henry, has been studying guitar with Behdad for several months now and I could not be happier with the progress he has made in that short time. He looks forward to his weekly sessions and appreciates Behdad's "no pressure" approach to music instruction. Behdad has a great teaching style; he does not speak down to children and is obviously passionate about his work. I look forward to watching Henry develop as a musician with Behdad as his teacher.

Behdad has taught classical guitar to all three of my children since they were 6 years old. Each child has a different learning style, threshold and temperament. Behdad is patient, flexible and unbelievably dedicated when it comes to sharing his passion for the guitar. He truly loves to teach and I respect both his commitment and approach to helping children (and adults) learn classical guitar. My kids are now 16, 13 and 11 and they never complain when Behdad is coming for their lessons. He is a hidden gem on the Main Line.

I am a student of Behdad and I have been since I was 6 years old (I'm 16 now). I have never been more happy with the results and the progress I have obtained over the past years. Behdad teaches a range of different styles of guitar; for example, Behdad teaches: classical, flamenco, classic rock, and even songs like "Mary Had A Little Lamb" for his youngest students. Behdad never asks me to practice, nor does he put stress on his students in any way. However, he is still able to make significant progress in guitar with his students.

It's always a pleasure listening in on my son's guitar lesson with the talented and brilliant classical acoustic guitarist, Behdad Moghaddasi. My son, Brandon (11), has been taking lessons with Behdad for only five months and the progress is incredible! Behdad is absolutely taking him to the next level. I also enjoy the community Behdad creates between the musicians through group practices and gatherings where they can all share their talents. God continues to bring extraordinary individuals into our lives and Behdad is most certainly at the top! I'm so grateful......many blessings!

Behdad is a talented musician and inspiring teacher. I met Behdad six years ago as my then 7-year-old son's guitar teacher. In less than six months, my son performed Smoke on the Water on the electric guitar as a first grader at his school's talent show totally rocking it. He got into the Junior Jazz Band in middle school this year and in May, he will perform Bach at Carnegie Hall for winning silver level distinction at the Golden Key Competition.

I admire Behdad's unparalleled passion for teaching and the pride he takes in all of his students. But most of all, I am grateful for the gift of music he has offered to my family over the past 6 years. He has taught both my daughter and my son to play together numerous arrangements for the guitar and the flute. He is now teaching my husband to play the guitar for the first time ever in his life and he has orchestrated pieces for the whole family to play as a group.

Since last year, Behdad is teaching my husband, myself and our two kids theory lessons. As a theory teacher, he's not only knowledgeable but capable of communicating successfully and engaging each of us in gaining a deep understanding of how music is made. As a result, we have all started our own improvisations in an unchartered but wonderful territory for each of us.

I highly recommend Behdad for his musical talent, commitment to his students' success --no matter the age or background-- and his incredible ability to transfer to each student not only his skills but, also, a life long passion for music.

I am 12 years old and I have been taking lessons with Behdad since I was 7. He is a great teacher who makes me play guitar with joy, rather than being stressed and overworked. When I decided to join Jazz Band this year, I did't realize how different it was from classical. I had no idea how to do a solo, but Behdad taught me about the scales and improvising, and it is helped me a lot. What is great about Behdad is that when there is something for him to do, he will work extremely hard and try to be the best, and that is an important life skill to have. Lastly, learning classical guitar from Behdad is amazing because it gives me a challenge It is better playing amazing classical pieces than a few simple chords.

Just beginning to be able to read music after years playing the acoustic guitar during my teen years, it was delightful to find a classical guitar coach that appreciated an older student. Besides being patient and knowledgeable, Behdad is very supportive and encouraging to his students. The strong points of his lessons are his playing and accompanying you in your pieces. This helps your rhythm and concentration to play your melody. Secondly, he offers you the opportunity to play in a quartet with other students at your playing level. This improves you musicianship and to learn more complex pieces. Behdad's repertoire of different musical compositions affords you all different types of music you might enjoy playing. I would highly recommend him.

I've been taking lessons with Behdad for more than 10 years now and I couldn't be happier with the progress I've made and the knowledge he's provided. Our lessons have always been extremely convenient, he goes out of his way to accommodate sudden schedule changes. When I started college we managed to keep up our weekly lessons over Skype. I spent half a year studying half way across the world and he was still able to find time to keep our Skype lessons going. If it weren't for my four years of lessons in front of my computer screen with Behdad, I easily could have found myself moving away from playing guitar.

Over the years he has never complained when I didn't practice and he never gave me homework. This was definitely a big plus when I was younger and didn't have the desire to do so. After 7 or 8 years of playing I finally felt the desire to practice and our progress only sped up. Behdad has always done a great job at teaching me pieces that I want to learn while slowly building a very important knowledge of music theory. As my skills improved, this made sure my understanding of music and theory were always at the level they needed to be to tackle the next piece or the next step in my music development. He's also done a great job at allowing me to look back over the years and clearly see my progress because he makes sure we record pieces when they're ready, and even more importantly, when I'm ready.

It has always been clear to me that Behdad has a very good understanding of what he is teaching in addition to being very skilled at the instrument he is teaching. It is clear to me that he has an underlying plan in everything we do. If I'm learning something, if we're playing anything, there is always a good reason. On top of everything he teaches me, he's always been able to make room for the music that I've found on my own and had the desire to learn. If I bring him a new piece I've found on my own, we start working on it the minute I bring it to his attention. Over the years I've been able to build a great repertoire of most styles of guitar music. I have beautiful pieces all over the spectrum of classical music in addition to rock, pop, electric, and more. I've even acquired pieces originating from parts of the world that I'd never have come in contact with had it not been for him. Some of these are my favorite pieces to this day.

I've been playing for over 13 years now, more than half my life, and I couldn't be happier with the progress that Behdad has helped me make. If it wasn't clear to me that he is extremely knowledgeable and extremely passionate about what he does, I would have found a new teacher somewhere along the way. He has given me a unique experience that I couldn't be happier with. As a long time student, I strongly recommend Behdad as a music teacher.

Behdad is a once in a lifetime teacher that inspires excellence in each of his students. He has not only taught me how to play the guitar, but he has taught me to master it. Unlike other teachers, he is extremely loyal, making sacrifices for his students and teaching them all that he knows, regarding classical, acoustic and electric guitar. Ultimately, Behdad is truly a fantastic teacher!
